Supervisor

Provided network and computer support for the university accommodation residential network and lead a team of 5 people. This includes internet access for over 5,000 students. I repair and offer advice on networking, software and hardware to the students. Fixing computer problems across the phone to computer illiterate people has assisted my communication skills. The job can be quite hands on and has given me the opportunity to work with networking hardware in a Cisco software environment. The contract was recently overtaken by Keycom where I provide a similar role.

Customer Assistant

From working with the public at Argos, I was able to improve my ability to deal with customer enquiries, especially technical ones as customers would be directed to me when they had questions about electronics. I have been trained to do various jobs such as till work, stock room management and designing shop displays.

I am able to pick up new languages in a few days but I have most experience in:

Java, Python, SQL (several flavours), C, C++, MIPS, Haskell and I've dabbled in several non-mainstream languages.

Normally I work in Eclipse but I am comfortable using other environments.

I currently work with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver, CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, XML, Ruby on Rails, PHP and Tomcat.
